Denmark Vs England War Viking

Battle of Edington

Background

In 865, a Danish great army arrived in East Anglia, marking the beginning of a period of Viking raids and invasions in England. The Vikings established settlements in various parts of the country, and their presence led to ongoing conflict with the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms.

Renewed Viking Attacks

In 892–896, Viking hosts launched renewed attacks on England, supported by the Danes who had settled in the country. These attacks caused widespread devastation and forced the Anglo-Saxon king, Alfred the Great, to take decisive action.
