Black Panther: Andy Serkis on Chadwick Boseman's Legacy

One year after the passing of Chadwick Boseman, Andy Serkis reflects on his friend and colleague's impact.

"He was a true leader, both on and off screen," said Serkis. "He inspired everyone around him to be their best, and he will be deeply missed."

Black Panther was a groundbreaking film that shattered box office records and became a cultural phenomenon. The film's success was due in no small part to the powerful performance of Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa, the king of Wakanda. Boseman's death from cancer in August 2020 was a tragic loss for the world, and his legacy continues to inspire fans and filmmakers alike.

Andy Serkis, who played Ulysses Klaue in Black Panther, recently spoke about Boseman's impact on the film and his own career. Serkis said that Boseman was a "true leader" who inspired everyone around him to be their best. He also said that Boseman's death has left a "huge void" in the film industry.

"Chadwick was a truly special person," said Serkis. "He was kind, compassionate, and always had a smile on his face. He was also an incredibly talented actor, and he brought a depth and nuance to the role of T'Challa that was simply breathtaking. He will be deeply missed."
